How do threatening weather patterns affect people and why do geographers study these patterns?
Droughts, which are extreme hot weather conditions, make the crops and grains dry out. There is a lack of grain products in the markets and people sell the stuff at much higher price. People with little money cannot afford to buy food products and suffer during these droughts. In some affected countries, the government has to import crops from other countries, making food products very expensive. That is why a good irrigation system is important to grow food all year around.
