Neolithic towns

some interesting facts are that there were no streets in these towns

2.It's after last Ice Age ended.
3.Population numbered between 5,000 and 6,000.
4.Evidence suggests that a number of the buildings were shrines, or sacred places where people worship.
5.They made tools and weapons by stones.

  • The town was 24 football fields.
  • The town had 1,000 houses.
  • The population was about  5,000 to 6,000 people.
  • wheat was Catal's main crop. 






Catal Huyuk


What i found about Neolithic is in Neolithic town bricks were with mud bricks. Catal Huyuk was located on a plain in present day Turkey 6000 B.C. The town had 1000 houses with between 5000 and 6000 people. Biggest Neolitic town was discovered by archaeologist in the middle east. In the Neolithic Town it didn't have streets, lanes, or layers.

1.They made houses completely out of mud-bricks

2.since people didn't have to farm howl time they started crafting


3.They buried  there relatives under there houses


4.they made shrines for there relatives in there homes 


5.the tools they made for farming and crafting

Catal Huyuk 

--)the doors from that civilization were found on the roof tops.

--)all the roof tops were connected to each other so that people could visit their neighbor.

--)dead family members were buried under the homes. it was thought that even though your dead, doesn't mean your not a part of the family.

--)sculptures made of plaster, were inside the shrines and homes. the bull, leopard, and ram were common sculpture designs

--)there houses were made of mud and brick.

4. The Catal Hiuyuk collapsed because of age or fire homes that were built over each other.
5. Most houses had two small rooms, a kitchen, and a place were they stored food.

Catal Huyuk

Catal Huyuk was an interesting little city in Present Day Turkey. - Catal Huyuk actually didn't have any lanes or streets at all. To get to another house you had to walk over your neighbor's roof. All the roofs were different levels, so there were ladders between the different them. - When it was time for a meal the villagers put the food on top of the clay board sticking out of the wall. In the day time it was used at a bench, and a bed at night. - Catal Huyuk had over 1,000 houses. Not a lot for a city in the modern world but certainly big for the stone age. - 5,000-6,000 villagers lived there. - The villagers of Catal Huyuk were very good craftsmen. They made hairpins, fishhooks, beads and needles of bone.

    Catal Huyuk is a well known Neolithic settlement located in Turkey in around 6000 BCE. 


    - The roof is made of mud-brick building.
    - Women climbs out from a hole in the roof.
    - Catal Huyuk is pronounced (chah tuhl hoo yuhk.)
    - The town had 1,000 houses.
    - The population was between 5,000 and 6,000.
    - Catal Huyuk collapsed from the age or fire.
    - Catal Huyuk had no streets.
    - People walk from their neighbors' roof to get to a place. They also had ladders.
    - Soil and river made the town grew bigger.
    - The Catal Huyuk people were talented in crafts.

    The facts I've found:

    1) There are no streets

    2) Doors are on rooftops of houses

    3) The houses were small, mostly with only 2 rooms and built-in furniture

    4) Their main crop was wheat

    5) They mad crafts out of stone, bone, wood, leather and wool
