Catal Huyuk
Catal Huyuk was an interesting little city in Present Day Turkey.
- Catal Huyuk actually didn't have any lanes or streets at all. To get to another house you had to walk over your neighbor's roof. All the roofs were different levels, so there were ladders between the different them.
- When it was time for a meal the villagers put the food on top of the clay board sticking out of the wall. In the day time it was used at a bench, and a bed at night.
- Catal Huyuk had over 1,000 houses. Not a lot for a city in the modern world but certainly big for the stone age.
- 5,000-6,000 villagers lived there.
- The villagers of Catal Huyuk were very good craftsmen. They made hairpins, fishhooks, beads and needles of bone.
